Summary

At the request of some key intranet clients Claromentis has just released a project management portal. This is available with Claromentis 5.6 and will be continually enhanced through 5.7 and forwards into the Claromentis 6.0 release later in the summer. This means that during 2009 a team in Claromentis needs to evaluate the key issues of this marketplace and ensure that our solution meets the needs of the modern, corporate web 2.0 company that is looking for software to manage projects through a programme management portal.

As a result of the fact that the project management application leverages all of the information management already available in Claromentis Intranet and Extranet Manager we find ourselves providing a rich portal for programme managers to achieve their goals relatively early in our development roadmap.

We therefore made the decision in April 2009 to reach out to companies, project managers and vendors to try to create an information management hub to identify what really matters in the project and programme management space. Part of this decision is this site - we will also engage all interested parties through our Claromentis Blog, our Beta Programmes and our sponsorship initiatives.

We decided to cover many aspects of project collaboration - while actual functionality is high on our lists we also want to consider pricing, data base and operating system support and deployment options - as these are very relevant to many potential users. As we start this site many product details are based on our own product - Claromentis Project Manager - but we hope that as the community grows we will have many contributions from experts in a range of products, methodologies and frameworks so that we can offer genuine comparisons between alternate solutions.
